Restaurante Calamar in Sao Vicente

"We had an amazing time at this restaurant! We went back 3 times in a row! Our waiter Dario was incredible, really lovely guy and went above and beyond. Very friendly and answered all the questions we had about the food. It was one of the only places that had some vegetarian options, and on our final night they even created a special vegetarian dish just for us, which was absolutely incredible - compliments to Carlos the chef! Highly recommend this place. Suitable for vegans and vegetarians. The chocolate was to die for!"

"First time we ate here as we were near Sao Vicente. I got the prawns risotto and was the best risotto ever tasted. For our last day in Madeira, we chose to come back to Calamar Restaurante from Funchal just to eat here. I got the lamb, absolutely amazing."

"We popped in randomly, but found the restaurant an absolute delight. The service was quick and friendly, we shared a fried calamari as an entree and had the beef skewer and seafood platter. First of all, the beef was good quality and nicely made. But the true star was the seafood platter, you had calamari, shrimp, prawn, mussels and octopus legs in abundance and the traditional black fish and the tuna steak were perfectly seasoned and cooked. We will definitely return!"

"Lovely restaurant. Got a little busy and its February (off season), so if you are visiting in the summer bare in mind as I say this place sells out. Food was amazing, and staff are all super lovely. Reasonable priced and you have a great view of the sea."
